The project will investigate the commercial potential of innovative management of food waste and especially ready-to-eat food from households and restaurants. The project will carry out applied research on innovative approaches for higher and more efficient recovery of food waste
The main objectives of the project are:
- Mapping of the current state of gastro waste management (legislative conditions, waste quantities and existing waste recovery methods),
- Identification of modern technologies available for the recovery of gastro-waste and their parameters and possibilities of application
- Research on the use of gastro-waste for the production of “green” chemicals
- Testing of effective conditions for BRO treatment using Hermetia illucens fly larvae
