Clean Philippines: Solution for the Waste Pollution

November 21-25. 2022: Manila, Davao, Cebu – Philippines

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila in collaboration with the Czech waste management cluster WASTen, z.s. organized a series of conferences on solid waste management in Manila, Davao and Cebu to help find solutions to the country’s looming waste crisis.

The first of the series of conferences was held on 21 November in Makati City when members of the WASTen cluster presented Czech solid waste management technologies and practices to Philippine stakeholders based in Manila.

The presentations focused specifically on waste-to-energy technologies and the conversion of plastic waste into concrete-like material. The participating companies from the WASTen cluster were Enress, s.r.o., Via Alta, a.s. and Essence Line, s.r.o.

Meanwhile, during her welcoming speech, Czech Ambassador Jana Šedivá-Trejbalová reaffirmed the Czech Republic’s commitment to work closely with the Philippines in various areas, including solid waste management. Following this event, representatives of the Czech Embassy in Manila and the WASTen z.s. cluster travelled to Davao on Wednesday 23 November and Cebu on Friday 25 November.
