About us
The WASTen Cluster was founded on 23 December 2015 as a registered association. The members of the association are innovative Czech companies, suppliers of the top technologies for the processing of municipal and industrial waste, and leading scientific research institutes.
Members of the WASTen cluster are universities from the most environmentally affected regions – UJEP from Usti n.L. and VSB TU Ostrava, as well as VŠCHT Prague. The activities of the cluster will be directed to projects throughout the Czech Republic, with special attention to the Usti and Moravian-Silesian regions.
Vision of the cluster
To become a centre for the transfer of the top innovative technologies with a focus on material and energy processing of industrial and municipal waste in the Czech Republic.

On 13-17 February, representatives of the WASTen cluster and the Chamber of Commerce took part in the accompanying mission of the Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Jan Skopeček, to the Philippines.
Czech-Finnish Matchmaking Seminar on Upcycling
On 14 December 2022, the WASTen cluster participated in the Czech-Finnish Matchmaking Seminar on Upcycling. The seminar was attended by 30 Finnish companies, associations, national and provincial governmental entities together with 10 Czech companies and organisations.
Clean Philippines: Solution for the Waste Pollution
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila in collaboration with the Czech waste management cluster WASTen, z.s. organized a series of conferences on solid waste management in Manila, Davao and Cebu to help find solutions to the country’s looming waste crisis.
